If you have been to a hemp store recently, you may have noticed many Delta products on the shelves. Delta is one of the top pharmaceuticals in the world, and they are trying to get into the medical marijuana market with Delta-8 cannabis. But Delta-8 THC products aren't all that close to being ready for medical use just yet. When medical marijuana first got approved by the US government in Schedule II, it was full of so many chemicals that the government had to put a medical marijuana rider onto the product. The cannabis growers had to fight to get that rider added, and the pharmaceutical companies spent millions of dollars trying to fight those laws in court. The growers and entrepreneurs saw a huge business opportunity there and began to add additional chemicals to delta-8 cannabis products to increase the potency. Now Delta-8 cannabis is even more powerful than it was when it first came out, and medical marijuana users could benefit from the added potency of the cannabis pharmaceutical company. However, until the Delta-8 THC products hit the market, medical marijuana cannot be legally sold over the counter. Currently, medical marijuana is only available through a prescription from a licensed doctor. Any doctor who participates in the state's Compassionate Care Program is authorized to prescribe delta-8 THC or any other pharmaceutical grade pharmaceutical compound as a pharmaceutical product. That means that patients in possession of an illegal cannabis plant are going to be thrown in jail and/or prison if they grow the plants, or try to make some extra money by selling dried, smoked, or vaporized cannabis. It is a gray area; it is not a legal grey area. There is some hope for the pharmaceutical industry, however. Recently, there has been talk of hemp products entering the medical marijuana market. hemp seed and oil would be a perfect source for making pharmaceuticals, since it has all of the great properties for a great drug. But, until the Delta-8 THC products hit the market, this remains a dream for the cannabis consumer. delta-8 has shown promise as a viable medical alternative, though, so it may be just a matter of time before we see this happen. In the meantime, the Delta-8 THC products that are being sold on the street are still a fine product. They provide patients with a low level of THC, which makes them very popular, especially among teenagers. There are currently no plans to introduce hemp products into the medical system any time soon, but the Delta-8 product line is highly successful in one respect: it is a winner with the customers. Delta-8 is a winner because it works! It is one of the few pharmaceuticals which has actually been found to work in clinical studies. This is just one example of why it can be so important to support legislation that legalizes hemp delta-8 products. We need to remember that there are many pharmaceuticals that work, but many more that do not. Delta-8 is in a class of its own. There is no doubt that it has medical uses, and it certainly has recreational uses too. But, if Delta-8 THC products cannot get through the political gauntlet, what chance do other herbal, natural, and organic drugs have?
